In the glass, the wine is dark garnet with visible sediment and slight clearing starting to form around the rim. The nose and palate are filled with earthy notes of tobacco, espresso, potting soil, dry herbs and dusty oak that part way to flavors of cassis, crushed blackberry and ripe strawberry. This wine is full-bodied and balanced with well integrated tannins that still have some grip and a gritty yet enjoyable mouthfeel. The finish is very long peppered with notes of coffee, tobacco and dirt. Overall, this is an aged and complex wine that provides plenty of intrigue. Enjoy now!
