Capcanes Peraj Ha’abib Flor de Primavera 2010

The 2010 vintage has returned Capcanes’ Peraj Ha’abib to its signature bombastic style (2009 was uniquely elegant)…almost. Gone are the wine’s wonderfully earthy qualities, replaced by prominent warm climate Cabernet fruit (think Israeli Cab), stunting the wine’s track record of complexity. The good news is that this wine is once again full-bodied and densely concentrated, but this vintage offers a significantly softer mouthfeel and lush tannins that are far down the road of integration. This wine is very approachable now and, at this point, seems to have a short future. Enjoy now and for the next 4 years. Salud!
