Tip #5: Break Out the Pocket Protector

The quickest way to increase your wine knowledge is to geek out a bit when you’re drinking/tasting new wines. Simply write down the name of the bottle and the vintage (year). Even better, since you practically have the processing power to run the CIA in the palm of your hand, take a picture of the bottle. There are even apps out there that will help you with all of the fuss. Make sure to do this for both wines that you like and ones that you don’t. You’ll be surprised how fast you develop an encyclopedic mind for wine.
